Justice Department requests delay on court sanctions in immigration case

The U.S. Justice Department on Tuesday filed an emergency motion to halt anctions imposed by a federal judge in Texas that included mandated ethics classes for federal prosecutors as a result of ongoing litigation over immigration policy.
On May 19, District Judge Andrew Hanen ruled in Feb. 2015 that President Obama's overstepped boundaries when instituting executive actions on immigration.
Additionally, Hanen ordered the Department of Homeland Security to execute a state-by-state review of immigrantswho were given three years of safeguards from deportation under Obama's previous immigration action.
The Justice Department asked Hanen to delay the sanctions while it seeks a review from the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
