INSTALLING A GANGWAY (Opacmare 1041/29) ON A SMALLER YACHT IN TIGHT SPACES WHERE NONE WAS PREVIOUSLY INSTALLED

The owner of a smaller yacht desired to have a gangway (passerelle) installed for ease of boarding. The challenge came with the tight space in which to make room for the gangway housing box and the lack of any support structures below deck to accomodate the space and weight of adding the gangway where there was not one previously installed. After creating the design and technical drawings for the custom support structure, our engineers collaborated with fabricators to create the system into which the new gangway housing box would be mounted. In addition, modifications were required to install the hydraulic and electronic systems for the gangway where none previously existed. When the project was complete, the gangway looked as if it was original to the yacht.
