Traditional Dhow race sets sail off Dubai shores

The annual Al-Gaffal Dhow race, a long-distance sailing competition meant to honour the lost tradition of pearl diving, kicked off on Friday, with about a hundred traditional boats departing from the Sir Bu Nair island, close to the Iranian coast, to make their way to Dubai.
