Graphic footage shows Chinese motorist survive being impaled by giant bamboo stick

GANZHOU, CHINA — A motorist in China survived being impaled by a two-metre-long bamboo stick that punctured his lung and missed his heart by mere millimetres.
The unnamed motorist was struck by the bamboo stick when he smashed into the back of a truck filled with bamboo sticks.
China News reports that the accident happened on a road in Ruijin city in Ganzhou province on April 28. The man was not paying attention to the road.
Raw footage of the incident shows the victim hopping onto a hospital bed with the bamboo shaft sticking out of his chest. Firefighters had to cut some of the bamboo stick away to safely transport the man to the hospital. Medics were able to remove the bamboo after a two-hour operation.
According to local media, the motorist is now in a stable condition and recovering in the hospital. He suffered a punctured lung and wounds to his chest and back.
