Man hears 'snap' sound during vigorous sex, suffers eggplant deformity

NEW DELHI — A BMJ Case Report published on May 13 details the trauma a 32-year-old man in New Delhi endured when he busted his member midway through an intense romp between the sheets.
The injured man was reportedly engaging in sexual intercourse at a vigorous pace when he heard a "snap" sound that immediately halted the action. He suffered a penile fracture, also known within medical circles as an "eggplant deformity," where an erect penis undergoes blunt trauma bending the penile shaft and causing a tear or rupture.
It's not clear which position the man was in when he suffered this cruel twist of fate, but there are statistics to suggest it most likely occurred while the woman he was with was on top. According to a study conducted by scientists in Brazil, the "woman on top" positions are to blame for about half of all reported penile fractures. The doggy-style position accounts for about 29% of cases, and the missionary position is the least likely of the three to result in a bent penis.
The wounded man underwent emergency surgery to drain the swell of blood and repair the tear in his penis. Once he recovers, it's expected he'll be able to resume his recreational activities without issue.
