Sure, the skies are filled with gigantic planes that carry hundreds of passengers at a time, but none of them can compare to the AN-225 Mriya, the largest aircraft in the world. 
Built by Antonov Airlines in the 1980s for the purpose of transporting a Soviet space shuttle, the cargo plane rarely takes to the skies these days but is available should duty call, notes CNN.
