Why Obama is visiting Hiroshima

President Barack Obama’s decision to visit Hiroshima may not have been a difficult one.
He has been pushing for a world free of nuclear weapons and his desire to fill his final year in office with a series of historic trips, including Cuba, is the final chapters to his legacy.
Obama would visit the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park May 27 following his first trip to Vietnam.
"I would be honored to visit Hiroshima and Nagasaki", he said in 2009.
His visit also will "highlight his continued commitment to pursuing the peace and security of a world without nuclear weapons", said The White House.
