‘Sanam Re' Movie Review By Pankhurie Mulasi | Pulkit Samrat, Yam Gautam, Urvashi Rautela

The film revolves around Pulkit’s character Aakash, who is very unhappy with his job but is doing it just for some security in life. His boss is a tyrant, who irritates his employees as well the audiences with his incorrect English. As a young boy Akash ko Shruti naam ki ek ladhki se pyaar hojata hai but he leaves his lady luv in lurch to fulfill his ambitions. Yaami Gautam has played Shruti in the movie.

Akash’s company loses a contract and when his boss decides to sack him, Akash usey promise karta hai ki wo ek haftey ke andar wo contract unhe wapas dilayega. When he comes to know that the owner of the other company Akanksha has enrolled in a Yoga Ashram in Canada, wo apna bag pack karkey waha ke liye nikal jaatey hai. Akanksha falls for his charms and they even make out but everything goes haywire when Shruti also lands up their and old sparks get reignited.

However, Shruti soon walks away from him without giving any explanation. Why Shruti rejects Akash? Whom will he finally choose to be with? Well to know that aapko film dekhni padhegi lekin ye advise main nahi de rahi hu, watch it at your own risk.
The lead pair of the film – Pulkit and Yami disappoint us big time first with their selection of the movie and second with their performance. Urvashi Rautela’s acting is nothing to even mention about aur her make-up is so distracting ki puri film mein shayad aap sirf unke lip gloss se bharey honthon ko hi dekhtey reh jaye. Rishi Kapoor has played Pulkit’s granddad and though he tries hard to look adorable he only ends up looking eerie.

The screenplay and the story is very loose and very stereotypical. In fact it is so stereotypical that stereotypes across the globe must be dying a thousand deaths. The film has nothing new to offer and is full of mistakes. Yoga camp mein log wine pee rahey hotey hai, Urvashi ki nail polish ek scene mein golden hai aur agle his scene mein yellow. After talking to Urvashi for a day or two, Pulkit lands inside her room, while she is taking a bath and when she walks out nude all she says is ‘how dare you’, then a song begins and you just bat your eyes in utter disbelief.
Film ke ek sequence mein Urvashi Pulkit ke sath Yami ko dhundne laddakh jaati hai wearing a gown can you beat that. Most often film has been shot in snow laden mountains and not even once the actresses have worn warm clothes however, Mumbai mein Yaami zaroor highneck pehan ke ghoomtey huey dikhti hai. Talk about logic. Ek aur sequence mein Yaami pulkit ko uske office mein jaake dhundti hai uske doston se poochti hai lekin ek bhi baar uske gharwalon se nahi poochti ki wo kahan hai. The climax of the film is the biggest blunder where a hale and hearty person donates heart his heart to another, I’m not going to reveal who does that as I don’t wanna spoil the film for you. But how does one convince a doctor to do that?
Divya Kumar Khosla has not only directed the film but has also done an item number in it and we wish she would have just stuck to the latter as direction is not her cup of tea. Film ke dialogues bhi kaafi kamzor hai aur T-series ki film honey ke bawajood the film’s music is very forgettable.

I give this film a rating of half a star and you can easily give it a miss.
