This season all the awards function received major flak, from all quarters of the society, for handing out trophies to ‘not so deserving talents’. Aamir Khan and Kangana Ranaut have already distanced themselves from Indian awards shows and now, Salman Khan has also asked the organisers of awards shows to not nominate him.

At a recent awards ceremony, when asked if awards are important for him, he said, “I get very happy when others receive awards but they don’t matter much to me but I like awards functions because the entire industry comes together here. Everybody is busy with their own lives so I also get to meet many of my friends here.”

“I say you should delete me from the competition.You should not keep me in the nominees, we have been here for such a long time, younger generation should be given a chance. I can come and perform, I can attend but the younger generation should get a chance to win the awards,” he further added.
