Omung Kumar, who made his debut as a director with Mary Kom, is gearing up for his next release Sarbjit, which is based on the life of an Indian farmer, who was arrested and convicted on grounds of espionage by the Pakistani government and we bring you 5 reasons why watching Sarbjit should be on your 'to-do' list this weekend.

Based On True Events: The film is based on the touching story of Dalbir Kaur, who waged a legal battle for 23 years in order to get her brother Sarabjit Singh released from a Pakistani prison, where he was incarcerated after being convicted of espionage. Though much has been written about the case, we are still curious to see the actual drama that unfolded at the time.

Powerful Performers: The film has not one, but four powerful performers. Sarbjit will see Randeep Hooda playing the titular role, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan playing Sarabjit's sister Dalbir Kaur, Richa Chadha as Sarabjit's wife and Darshan Kumaar (of Mary Kom and NH10 fame), who will play a Pakistani lawyer.

Omung Kumar: Omung, who started his career as Sanjay Leela Bhansali's production designer, made his debut with Mary Kom and proved to everyone that he is a force to be reckoned with in his debut film itself. His characterization, penchant for realism and touching drama, will surely impress cinegoers once again this weekend.

Raw And Realistic: If you are tired of candy floss romances or masala movies, Sarbjit will surely warm the cockles of your heart. The film is quite raw and real and the trailer of the film, which was released a few weeks back, has made us quite eager to watch the film as Hooda, Aishwarya and others, have put their heart and soul in their performances.

Music: The makers of the film have stayed faithful to the theme of the film as regards the music and haven't diluted the emotional quotient of the music for the sake of commercial success.
