Joe Biden makes surprise trip to Iraq in hopes to bolster fight against ISIS

Vice President Joe Biden made an unannounced visit to Iraq Thursday to help a weak prime minister and bolster the military campaign against ISIS.
Biden’s arrival, five years after his last trip, comes at an important time as the country’s leadership is mired in yet another crisis.
Biden urged in a meeting with to Iraqi officials to put their nation’s interests above sectarian, regional or personal ones as the country confronts a military threat Over the last three years, Iraqi forces have disintegrated in the face of an onslaught from ISIS fighters and the inability of a corrupt central government to support and supply them.
