Suspected Paris attacker Salah Abdeslam investigated for terrorist offences

Suspected Paris attacker Salah Abdeslam has been placed under formal investigation on charges of belonging to a terrorist organisation, murder, kidnapping and holding weapons and explosives.

The 26-year-old was extradited from Belgium to France early on Wednesday.

So now, we are at the very beginning of the investigation and legal proceedings. This is his first appearance. He was notified of the charges against him. He is in detention.
