There may finally be some answers about the mysterious hair found long ago at Romsey Abbey in the U.K., according to a recent BBC report.

It was initially discovered in 1839 when gravediggers found a lead-encased coffin that contained a wig-like head of braided hair.

To this day, it appears to retain the shape of the head it was on and contains white pieces of scalp.

A team of archaeologists conducted tests on a small sample taken from the artifact.
