Virginia Governor criticized for restoring voting rights to felons

Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe used his executive order on Friday to restore the voting rights to more than 200,000 convicted felons.
The action overturns a Civil War-era provision in the state’s constitution, he said, at taking power away from African Americans.
The sweeping order could have a big impact on thePresidential election in November as it will enable all felons,who’ve served their prison time or finished probation to register to vote.
McAuliffe’s move doesn’t appear to be lauded by all as Republicans, like Gov. Matt Bevin of Kentucky, who recently overturned an order recently overturned an order enacted by his Democratic predecessor that was similar to the one in Virginia.
