The stunning image, posted to Twitter, shows the volcano stretching above and beyond the clouds.
Blues and whites swirl amidst it all as an elongated wisp of smoke pours out from the crater at the top of the mountain in the center-right of the frame.
Peake notes in the post, "Spotted a volcano smoking away on Russia’s far east coast this morning – heat has melted snow around top."
