Car smashes into tree after driver 'mistook gas for brake'

Bizarre footage has emerged from China showing a car crashed into a tree after its driver reportedly mistook the accelerator for the brake.

The video, captured in Rizhao, Shandong Province last Monday, shows the white car after the driver tried to reverse, with her then crashing it spectacularly into the tree.

According to local reports nobody was injured in the accident.
