Mississippi Governor signs law authorizing guns in churches

Governor Phil Bryant signed a bill that allows some members of churches to undergo firearms training to provide armed security for their congregations The Church Protection Act states that those appointed can carry guns into church buildings It also allows people to carry holstered weapons without a permit Republican State Representative Andy Gipson of Braxon proposed the bill in response to the 2015 church slayings in Charleston, South Carolina
