Australian pro surfer mauled by shark

Australian pro surfer Brett Connellan is in serious but stable condition at a Sydney hospital after he was mauled by a shark at Bombo Beach Wednesday evening.
The 22-year-old lost a large part of his left thigh and his hand was lacerated while trying to fight off the shark.
Witnesses said there were over a dozen surfers at the beach at the time but Connellan was separated from the group when the attack occurred.
