Batman V Superman was a hot mess, but it still cleaned up at the box office

METROPOLIS / GOTHAM — "Why so serious?" was the Joker's tagline of Christopher Nolan's 2008 masterpiece "The Dark Knight." Too bad that "Batman V Superman" director Zack Snyder seems to have taken that joke literally and churned out this 150-minute gloom and doom fest.
It's not quite as bad as 1997's Batman and Robin, but at least that had bat nipples. All this mess has is Ben Affleck's Bat butt chin and Henry Cavill's constant super frown (except when he's superbanging Lois Lane in a bathtub). Thank god Gal Gadot showed up as Wonder Woman to save this movie from the WB's crapshoot.
Despite the truckload of bad reviews, the film is making a killing at the box office and will probably make $1 billion, or more.
But does anyone know why they cast Shrek to play villain Doomsday? Because that makes about as much sense as Jesse Eisenberg's rendition of Lex Luthor on acid.
