The Akshaya Patra Foundation is a non profit organisation that provides free meals to underprivileged school children across India. The track sung by Shankar Mahadevan with lyrics by Javed Akhtar was created to commemorate the completion of 1 Billion meals served by the Akshaya Patra Foundation across India
