Internet obsesses over people hiding waists behind sheet of paper

CHINA / CYBERSPACE — Chinese netizens are obsessed with hiding their waists behind a sheet of paper.
The latest Internet challenge craze has fallen behind a 4A sheet of paper, literally. The challenge is a trending topic on social media site Weibo with more than 40,000 people commenting, and hundreds showing off their paper-thin waists. The challenge has bled over to Twitter and Instagram.
In photos, people are seen hiding their waists behind a sheet of A4 paper, which measures 21cm in width and 29.7cm in length. Some are easily hiding behind the paper when held vertically, while others, unable to complete the feat, have nonchalantly made comments like, “So what if I don’t have a #4Awaist?”
And even someone from Shan Dong University got in on the fun posting photos of things around campus that fit behind a 4A sheet of paper.
The challenge is just the latest in the growing trend of proving how slim you can be on the Internet. Last year, folks took to the “belly button challenge” and “behind the back breast grab challenge,” wrapping their arms around their backs and touching their belly buttons or breast, respectively.
