Lift slowly fills with smoke with group trapped inside

A dramatic video has emerged of a group of people trapped in an elevator waiting to be freed.
The footage, shot on Monday at Fulton Street subway in New York City, US, shows the group of seven stuck as smoke from a rubber door belt fills the lift.
Some of the passengers can be seen suffering from breathing difficulties and nausea while other lose their temper as they wait for the fire department to break the door open.
The group were stuck in the elevator for a total of 45 minutes.
