Over 7,000 migrants are stranded at a transit camp in Idomeni, along Greece’s northern border with the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
This drone footage shows a glimpse of the dozens of tents surrounding the camp, all serving as makeshift homes for migrants, whose journey to northern Europe has stalled after Macedonia banned the entry of Afghan nationals and stepped up checks on other nationalities.According to reports from Kathimerini, the Idomeni border crossing has been closed for nearly 24 hours after groups of migrants tried to force their way through, causing local authorities to respond with tear gas.
