Surgeons replace bone with 3D-printed vertebrae to save cancer patient's life

Neurosurgeons in Australia used a 3D-printed body part to treat a rare and aggressive form of cancer known as chordoma. Dr. Ralph Mobbs — neurosurgeon at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney — and his team extracted the cancerous bone and replaced it with a titanium 3D-printed vertebrae. This is the first of its kind.
