The film is being directed by Byron Howard and Rich Moore, co-directed by Jared Bush (in his directorial debut), and starring the voices of Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman. It is scheduled to be released by Walt Disney Pictures inDisney Digital 3D, RealD 3D, and IMAX 3D on March 4, 2016 making it the first animated Disney film since Treasure Planet to be shown in domestic IMAX theaters, and the first in IMAX 3D.
The film, along with Moana, will mark the first time since 2002 that Walt Disney Animation Studios has released two feature films in the same year.
