Voice Comparison as requested:\r
\r
(Who do you think did the best Betty?)\r
\r
Margie Hines (1930,1931,1932,1938,1939)\r
\r
Hines was the first and last person to voice Betty Boop in original series.\r
\r
Little Ann Little (1930,1931,1932) \r
\r
Ann Rothschild signed up after premier of Dizzy Dishes, she claims to have been the original voice of Betty Boop\r
in several of her interviews, she started off in vaudeville and and she also was the first person to portray Betty Boop in person until\r
the characters retirement. In later years Ann disliked the fact that Mae Questel was being classed as the original \r
Betty Boop, it is unknown why Ann was replaced by Questel in the early 30s, most likely because she was touring as Betty Boop across the country. \r
In the 1940s Ann tried to use the name Betty Boop but Max Fleicher wouldnt let her, instead she used the nickname Betty Werner.\r
Ann later decided to become a christian and studied the bible. In the 1970s she got annoyed that Questel had been dubbed the \r
original Betty Boop, and complained several times, one in a written letter to Tom Synder. She said that Max Fleischer always called her\r
the original Betty Boop and people thought that she was a fraud, and whisper about her which annoyed her. \r
\r
Harriet Lee (1931)\r
\r
\r
\r
\r
Mae Questel (1931,1932,1933,1934,1935,1936,1937,1938,1988) \r
\r
Questel is the most famous voice of Betty Boop, she won a Helen Kane contest and was later seen performing by \r
Max Fleischer but her parents didnt want her to work in show business Mae was seen by Fleischer a year later\r
and was given a contract and debuted as Betty in the 1931 cartoon Silly Scandals, Mae was later asked by Fleischer to voice Olive Oyl and ended up creating a voice for the character based on ZaSu Pitts. \r
Mae also portrayed Betty in Musical Justice where she performed Dont Take My Boop-Oop-a-Doop Away and reprised her role several years later as Betty\r
in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Mae is classed as the best voice of Betty Boop and none other can compare, even the original voice, Richard Fleischer, Maxs son stated that they \r
needed an actress who didnt just sound high pitched, but needed skills in voice acting and singing and funny enough Mae looked just like\r
the character.\r

where as Sandy is the Cute Boop voice. Her role as Betty is shared with Sandy.\r
\r
\r
These are all the past Betty Boop voices, a new voice for Betty will most likely debut in \r
Simon Cowells new Betty Boop feature somewhere around 2015-2016-2017-2018??? depending\r
auditions might start, but they will most likely hire someone who is a star or a well known singer for the role.\r
\r
\r
Other voices not included, ect?: \r
\r
Sue Raney (Storyboard for scrapped 90s film)\r
\r
Sue Raney filled in for Betty in the storyboard, Bernadette Peters was to have done the role\r
but the film was scrapped. Bernadette portrated Betty in a live action skit in 1981.\r
\r
Lani Minella (Betty Boop Slot Games)\r
\r
Lani did the voice for Betty and Olive Oyl in the slot games. She classes herself as versatile\r
and can do any voice.\r
\r
Tress MacNeille\r
\r
Tress MacNeille might have done Bettys voice in the 80s-90s but there is no valid proof\r
that she had done the role, as she doesnt have an official website as she gets LOADS of work through an agency. \r
One voice she stated she wouldnt like to do in a interview was Olive Oyl she adored the character as a child,\r
but she stated because her friend did the role, most likely Marilyn Schreffler who had died.\r
\r
Tara Strong\r
\r
Tara Strong provided the voice of a spoof of Betty Boop dubbed Toot in Drawn Together, she has never provided\r
the voice for the official Betty Boop, but is the newer official voice of DCs Harley Quinn who speaks similar to\r
Betty Boop.
