WESLEY CHAPEL, FLORIDA — A shoplifting suspect in Wesley Chapel, Florida was caught on bodycam footage being thrown to the ground by a Pasco County Sheriff's deputy.

Suspected shoplifter Tiffany Tebo, 29, was apprehended outside of a Beall's department store on Friday and confronted about a pair of shoes that she allegedly didn't pay for.

When the deputy tells her to put her hands behind her back, she doesn't comply and gets taken to the ground.

Continuing to resist arrest, she hits her head and starts bleeding while the deputy threatens her with a Taser. She finally puts her hands behind her back and the deputy radios in for an ambulance.

Tebo told WTSP in an interview: "He had a hold of me. He could've just put handcuffs on me. There was no reason to throw me down to the ground."

She got four staples in her head, and there were marks left around her neck from being bodyslammed.

She says the deputy used excessive force, but the Pasco County Sheriff's Office says he did nothing wrong.

Tebo's bail was $105 for petit theft and resisting arrest, which are both misdemeanor offenses and can incur a sentence of up to one year in prison and a $1,000 fine.
