How hard is it to spot a person as they nearly drown? For lifeguards, they’re trained to spot such incidents and often times only have a split second to react – as this footage shows. Here’s one lifeguard in Coronado Beach, California, on February 19 diving into the waters from the beach to save a boy, as onlookers just meters away remained unaware of what was happening.Coronado Beach lifeguards had warned swimmers and visitors the week prior to steer clear of a 300-foot ship that ran aground in 1937. Low tide made the ship the most visible it’s been in 20 years, prompting many to explore the SS Monte Carlo. Credit: YouTube/Shawn White
