Hiram Holliday

Paul Gallico was a novelist who's first work of fiction (he had previously been a sportswriter!) was the Walter Mitty-esque 'The Adventures of Hiram Holliday' . NBC, at the time owning and operating their own production company (California National Productions), decided to marry the stories in the book with the fast rising comedian Wally Cox, who was fresh off of making Mr. Peepers. Gallico went on to write 'The Posidon Adventure'.
