Oppressed Muslims of West Burma

In a world of displaced people struggling for survival, the plight of the Rohingyas in Bangladesh, is little known.
Forced out of Burma by the brutal military regime, the Rohingyas have been given little support by successive Bangladeshi governments, who've classified them as illegal immigrants – and who have prevented journalists from entering the remote border region where the refugees are corralled.
However, South Asia correspondent Peter Lloyd found a way around bureaucratic obstacles to enter the camps and reveal the atrocious conditions in which the Rohingyas live.
May ALLAH Azza Wa Jall makes the oppressed people in Burma not a trial for the people who are wrongdoers. And May ALLAH save them by His Mercy from the disbelieving people.
And as for those who went into exile for the Cause of Allah, after suffering oppression, We will certainly give them a goodly place in this world, but indeed the reward of the Hereafter will be greater, if they but knew!
(They are) those who remained patient, and put their trust in their Lord (Allah Alone). [Surah an-Nahl, Ayat 41-42]
This oppression is something that started during the British rule in Burma with their “Divide and Rule” policy.
The Anti-Muslim sentiments started sometime after the First World War during this time of the British rule. In Burma there were half million Muslims in 1921. More then half of them were Indians. Although Myanmar Muslims are different from the Indian Muslims and Indian Myanmar Muslims, the British and Burmese Buddhists put them together even mixed with Hindu Indians, and called them “Kala”. And lot of persecution was conducted on the Muslims. Some were exiled, and mobs of Buddhists, led by monks, vandalized Muslim-owned businesses and property and attacked and killed Muslims in Muslim communities.
