A dog in Saskatchewan was found with an arrow shot through her body. The removal was a success, but the animal barely escaped a very serious situation.

Workers at an animal charity in Regina, Canada are astounded by the luck of one recent rescue.

The dog, believed to be a stray, was found with an arrow shot through her body on Sunday. 

The removal was a success, but in the process it was learned the animal barely escaped a very serious situation. 

Had she been struck only millimeters closer to the spinal cord, there would have been significant complications.

The dog, who is being called Arrow, is recovering but may have to undergo surgery for the removal of spine fragments. 

For now, she’s taking it easy at a foster home.
