Driver ejected from vehicle to end high-speed meth-fueled police chase
  • 8 years ago
ELMORE COUNTY, IDAHO — Idaho State Police have released a video showing a high-speed chase from April of last year. The pursuit down Interstate 84 came to an end when the 32-year-old driver, Jose Manuel Sanchez, was ejected from his vehicle following an insane rollover.

Before the crash, Sanchez appeared to have tried to pull a 180 on the officer. He cut into the median and nearly darted into oncoming traffic. Sanchez appeared to have had second thoughts – he lost control of his vehicle and slid sideways back onto the highway, but rolled his pickup in the process.

Sanchez was later found to be in possession of methamphetamine which may have contributed to his seemingly superhuman strength. After the crash, he even attempted to run away on foot.

Jason Henley was driving one of the vehicles that Sanchez whizzed by and pulled over when he came upon the crash sight. Henley would later receive an award for assisting the arresting officer. Sanchez has been sentenced to 15 years in prison on three felony charges.
