How Calvin Johnson's anticipated retirement could impact the Giants

Where there's smoke, there's fire.
And all the signs are now pointing to prolific Detroit Lions wideout Calvin Johnson retiring after ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Sunday that Johnson told the Lions he plans to retire .
Even if you subscribe to the theory Victor Cruz will be back in 2016 after reworking his contract , he still has not played in a game, regular season or preseason, since October of 2014.
No. 3 receiver Rueben Randle - an unrestricted free agent  - is not expected to return.
The more likely impact is that without Johnson, the Lions are now a player for an impact receiver this offseason, whether it be through free agency or the draft.
