00:00Ladies and gentlemen, I'm sorry to break up this delightful party, but it's my disagreeable
00:08duty to inform you, on behalf of the Department of Health, that a Mr. Cooper, the husband
00:13of a lady who is here tonight, has contracted smallpox.
00:21I gather that some of you are aware that smallpox is the most contagious of all diseases.
00:26Our only safeguard against this plague is vaccination.
00:30Not only primary contacts with the patient, but contacts of contacts.
00:34My colleague and I have come here this evening prepared to vaccinate you here and now.
00:39Please, will the ladies kindly remain here and the gentlemen assemble in the hall.
00:54Thank you, Jamieson.
00:55I'll do the ladies.
00:56Follow me.
01:24Dr. Blake, would you sign clearance for the flame, please, sir?
01:33Humigate these quarters next, then the ambulance.
01:36Thank you, sir.
01:40Wouldn't you prefer it on the thigh, where the scar won't be seen?
01:49What makes you think it won't be seen?
