Mammut have dramatically improved their avalanche airbag system this year with the new 3.0 system which is both smaller and much lighter than the previous version. The Mammut Ride Removable Airbag 3.0 is housed in an 18-liter backpack that weighs a scant 2500g with the carbon cartridge included. Removing the airbag increases the volume to 20 liters and drops the weight to only 500 grams! A new deployment handle design is another nice innovation but perhaps the best part of the whole package is the price tag that is much lower than similar models from other brands.
