Three beached whales were discovered near the seaside town of Skegness in Lincolnshire, England, over the weekend of January 23, local reports said. The sight of the dead whales attracted large crowds Saturday and Sunday. However, many were outraged to find that anti-nuclear messages had been written on two of the whales. One whale’s back had the words “Fukushima RIP” and "man killed me” written on it; another had “CND” spray painted on its tail.
In total, five dead whales have been found near the Lincolnshire coast since Friday, January 22. East Lindsey District Council, which represents the Skegness Beach area, said on January 25 it was working on a plan to remove the whales. Credit: Multiple
