Niagara Falls May Soon Stop Flowing Due To Bridge Work

A plan to replace two 115-year-old bridges at Niagara Falls requires the water coming over the American side be reduced to a trickle.

Millions flock to Niagara Falls every year, but, in the coming years, tourists visiting the New York side of the falls may be greeted by a very unusual sight.

A plan to replace two 115-year-old bridges on U.S. land calls for the water coming over the American side to be diverted during construction.
Voting on the initiative is scheduled for Wednesday.
Those who are presenting the idea note the work is long overdue, as the stone structures are deteriorating and unsafe.
