At NXT TakeOver in the finals, Charlotte defeated Natalya to win the vacant NXT Women's Championship and become the oldest champion in history at age 28. Charlotte made a special appearance on the main roster on the Slammy Awards special episode of Raw on December 8, where she lost to Natalya.
