“BNM HAS NO ROOM TO CUT INTEREST RATE”

OCBC Bank economist Selena Ling says Bank Negara has no room to cut interest rates as inflation has risen to 2.9% this year. She explains that the central bank’s move to bring down the statutory reserve requirement (SRR) ratio to 3.5% is aimed at boosting liquidity in the market.
