A recent NASA press release has confirmed that 2015 was the warmest year on record for Earth’s surface temperatures.
The temperature on Earth rose to record levels last year, according to a recent NASA press release.
In fact, the announcement starts off by stating, “Earth’s 2015 surface temperatures were the warmest since modern record keeping began in 1880.”
And, according to the agency, this finding was corroborated in independent analyses conducted by them and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
The average temperature in 2015 also surpassed the figure from 2014 by 0.23 degrees Fahrenheit, a year-to-year surge only previously occurring once, in 1998.
