For a lot of people, death of a Middle Eastern is less significant than death of an animal

BULENT SEZGIN: AhmetHakan stated that thousands of people including children, in Syria were murdered and were forced into exile; that just yesterday there was another massacre in Beirut supported by the French; that people are killed every day in Baghdad. He said that despite this, not one person lit a candle, or started a campaign or asked for prayers for the dead.  He said that, "The world united and started 'Pray for Paris' campaign when it was Paris in question. But not one word was said by those people, asking prayers for Syria. What kind of an unjust, brutal competition is this? Of course we shouldn't make the pain a subject of competition but this situation is really disturbing."
