The 'dangerous' act was blasted by both local media and tunnel workers after they said he put lives at riskA man who was filmed riding a children's micro scooter through a busy tunnel has been blasted for the 'downright stupid' act.

The man was caught on camera using the kid's push scooter through a cross city tunnel in Sydney earlier today.

A passenger filmed him from behind as he made his way through the traffic-heavy tunnel at Rushcutters Bay in the city.

He was using his right leg to propel the scooter forward while cars slowed down and drove around him.And even when tunnel operators flashed him and announced on a PA to pull over, the man continued to push his way through ignorantly.

He had been told to pull over and wait for authorities to get onto the scene.

But by the time anyone arrived on the scene, the man had already fled.A 9 News anchor said that it was 'a miracle he wasn't hurt' after the incident in one of the city's busiest tunnels.

An operator from the cross city tunnel told local news: "The individual in question is putting his own life at risk as well as the other drivers."

It isn't known whether he was caught after the dangerous act took place.
