Maggie Gyllenhaal is an actress known for roles in small films and for her leading-lady role in The Dark Night.

Starting her career by appearing in five films directed by her father, Maggie Glyllenhaal then hit the big screen in the film Riding in Cars with Boys (2001), starring Drew Barrymore. She starred in several independent films, both dramas and comedies, before landing the biggest role of her career in 2008 in The Dark Knight, and in 2009, she earned her first Oscar nod for her work in Crazy Heart.
