After a single mother of five had her car and debit card stolen she wasn't sure how she'd be able to provide for her children in the days ahead. That's where Officer Albert Simmons stepped in.

An Albuquerque police officer spent his own money to help a family in need. 

In October 2015, a single mother of five had her car stolen with her debit card inside. But not only was she lacking transportation, she'd lost all the money and wasn't sure how she was going to provide for her children in the days ahead.

After the police report was filed on the theft, Officer Albert Simmons made his way to a grocery store to buy food, diapers, and baby wipes for the family.
