The story is narrated by Neelakanta Deekshatar, an ardent devotee of Goddess Meenakshi. Many small mythological stories are interwoven throughout the movie, thereby giving the whole movie a religious fervour. Besides, the marriage of Meenakshi to Lord Shiva by her brother Vishnu is explained in the movie.
