China: miners must wait a week for rescue

Rescuers say it will take a week to drill holes big enough to lift 17 miners trapped after a mine collapsed in China’s Shandong Province.

One person is confirmed dead, four escaped and seven have been rescued so far.

Supplies have been passed down to the survivors through bore holes reaching more than 130 metres underground.
