Hoverboard Catches Fire at Texas Mall

Deerbrook Mall in Humble, Texas, was evacuated after a hoverboard caught fire at a kiosk. Shoppers filmed a member of mall staff using a fire extinguisher to put out the blaze, and Deerbrook Mall said in a statement released to KHOU that no one was injured and the mall had reopened.The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on December 16 that it had opened an investigation into the safety of the popular holiday gift following a spate of fires.
