U.S. Adds African Lions To Endangered Species List

African lions have been granted protection under the Endangered Species Act, which will make importing hunting trophies much more regulated.

In July, many around the world were horrified and outraged upon learning that a Minnesota dentist lured a beloved lion named Cecil and then killed him. 
The U.S. government has made a move that, while not directly related to the incident, may prevent such acts from occurring in the future. 
African lions have, according to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, been granted protection under the Endangered Species Act.
