How many leaders do we know in Pakistan who do not run away from accountability
How many leaders do we know in Pakistan who do not run away from accountability? How many leaders do we know who face the parents of massacred children head on?
As some parents of the APS school protested, chairman Imran Khan welcomed them with open arms on stage and invited them to speak their heart out on their grievances against him and the KP government.
One year on, the parents are still grieving. Their demands stand justified. They want to know who carried out the attack, they want a judicial commission, they want justice, they want to know names. Most of these demands are out of scope of the provincial government, but it was only Imran Khan who stood today and listened and promised to get their voice heard in the highest corridors of power.
Imran Khan asked the parents to speak their heart out so they can be heard; so their grievances against him, the provincial government, the federal government and all those in a position of power can be heard.We all must take out time to listen to what these parents are complaining against, and think about exactly who can facilitate their demands. They want more action than symbolism, they want answers and accountability. While the facilitation of their demands is beyond scope of the provincial government, they pin their hopes on Imran Khan as they know he will make sure their voice is heard where it matters.
