Voices from Syria: Livestream offers rare look inside Aleppo

As the Syrian civil war drags into its fifth year, information from the people living through the horrors taking place daily inside the country is rare.Aleppo, the country's second largest city, has been the site of near constant bombardment by government forces attempting to end opposition control in the area. But despite the violence, people are still living in the city, attempting to go about their daily lives. On Friday, human rights advocacy group The Syria Campaign teamed up with activist Rami Jarrah to conduct a livestreamed question and answer session with local residents.Jarrah and a handful of men and children answered wide ranging questions about everything from about what life is like for children who remain inside the embattled city to what the word "Daesh," used to identify Islamic State militants, acutally means.Mashable readers submitted questions ahead of the event on our Facebook page, which were answered by members of the community.
